Executive Director of Graduate Admissions & Recruitment


Job Description:
Meet and exceed new student enrollment goals for all graduate programs as well as targets for each phase of the recruitment funnel - from prospect generation through yield - through the planning and execution of a comprehensive recruitment strategy for both external candidates and current SHU students.
Expand, refine, and execute a comprehensive, data-driven recruitment plan for each graduate program.
Support and collaborate with the Director of SEM, Enrollment Communications in the development and execution of a comprehensive, robust and timely enrollment communications plan for each graduate program.
Support and collaborate with Marketing staff in the development of both program-specific and general graduate marketing plans to generate an increasing number of well-qualified, diverse pool of inquiries.
Initiate and leverage external partnerships with a variety of organizations to increase visibility of graduate programs and drive enrollment.
Execute creative strategies in collaboration with the Colleges and other internal departments.
Develop and maintain professional networks online and in person.
Contribute to the achievement of recruitment goals for incoming SHU freshmen admitted to dual degree (UG-GR) programs.
Work collaboratively with Undergraduate Admissions to meet inquiry, application and yield goals for these student populations.
Work closely and collaboratively with the Center for Career & Professional Development on recruitment strategies relating to both internal and external prospective students, employers, and other organizations to support enrollment.
Identify opportunities for beneficial external relationships and partnerships to benefit graduate enrollment and to understand employer needs for employees with graduate degrees.
Work proactively and collaboratively with Graduate Student Affairs on recruitment strategies as well as the transition from admission to enrollment.
Develop a plan to formally incorporate current graduate students in the recruitment process.
Provide strategic leadership in hiring, training, motivating and coaching admissions staff members.
Cultivate a positive, collaborative, results-focused culture and environment.
Work with staff on productivity and customer service strategies and ensure the implementation of best practices across staff members.
Ensure effective use of the Slate CRM by all staff to maximize enrollment as well as the integrity of data in the system.
Maintain expertise in Slate functionality.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with deans, associate deans, and program directors to understand and address unique needs and ensure collaboration in recruitment activities and the admission process.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of graduate admissions/enrollment trends, best practices, and technologies through participation in professional development activities, attendance at conferences, as well as through professional publications and other resources.
Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of all SHU graduate programs.
Maintain current knowledge of competition across programs.
Develop accurate and timely reports for forecasting and assessment and to meet the operational needs of both the department and other University constituents, working with the Director of Admissions Operations, Executive Director of SEM and staff in Information Technology as necessary.
Develop expertise in Slate and Qlik platforms.
In collaboration with the Director of Divisional Budgets, develop and plan for utilization of the departmental operating budget, effectively allocating funds for maximum impact on enrollment and balancing the budget each year.
Attend divisional meetings and gatherings; Participate and be visible in the University community, in particular attending programs within the colleges relating to graduate programs and supporting the activities and achievements of graduate students.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Master's degree required.
Minimum of ten years of leadership experience within enrollment management or recruitment positions in a college or university setting.
Strong technical skills and the ability to quickly learn and utilize a variety of software.
Experience with Slate CRM is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate and mentor staff to achieve goals.
Interest in networking and developing a strong internal and external network to support institutional goals.
Proven ability to build collaborative relationships throughout an organization to achieve common goals an integrate various functional areas into operational strategies.
Strong customer service orientation.
Demonstrated ability to generate and execute creative ideas to meet goals.
Valid driver's license is required.
Candidates with related experience outside of university admissions may be considered with a statement of interest.
