Job Description:
Certified Tutor-State of Connecticut $35-45/hour plus a $100 completion bonus for every 30 days worked (up to $800)! This position requires a current CT state teaching certificate.
This position requires daytime hours.

SmartStart Education seeks one on one tutors to work with individual high school students Monday-Friday.
Students have been identified as students who require additional support with all high school subjects including history, English, advanced math, and advanced sciences.
Students are from all grade levels, including 9th-12th grades.
The tutor will offer in-person tutoring for students several times throughout the week at locations throughout Fairfield, CT.
Job Details:
The tutoring position begins ASAP, and runs through the 2023-2024 school year.
The schedule is flexible, but tutors should plan to work several hours during the school day and after school as necessary.
Applicants must be able to tutor subjects including, but not limited to, calculus, physics, chemistry, history, and English.
Applicants are encouraged to schedule interviews as soon as possible to allow ample time to complete onboarding steps.

Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any field is mandatory.

A valid and current CT teaching certificate, other state certifications not accepted Daytime availability Monday-Friday Demonstrated experience of at least one year in teaching or tutoring, either within a school environment or another educational setting.
Comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges faced by urban students, schools, and communities, encompassing racial disparity, socio-economic disparity, and cultural disparity.
Mastery of concepts and skills, substantiating proficiency in the subject matter.
Display of genuine passion and unwavering commitment towards fostering the success of students.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred, although not required.
Exemplary punctuality, ensuring timely attendance and adherence to established schedules.
Proficiency in communication skills, enabling effective and articulate interaction with students, colleagues, and interested parties.
Ability to comfortably commute to the designated location.
