Summary
The Senior Systems Analyst will be responsible for the planning, configuration, development, implementation and documentation of Sponsorship related systems in IT. This person will use technology to help deliver Sponsorship programs. As the Senior Systems Analyst, this person will track and coordinate the tasks to achieve this goal and work with the developers, networking and operations teams to implement systems plans. This person will also be responsible for the integrity of their code and will follow application programming standards. This position requires a breadth of application development knowledge, particularly Blackbaud BBEC SDK, Visual Studio, MS SQL SSIS, MS SSRS, VB.Net and Microsoft SQL Server database.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Specialist - Systems Analyst/Developer for Sponsorship will help positively affect the direction of delivering programs to children through the installation of stable applications. This individual will be able to identify strategies that will affect the success of multiple applications. This person will implement systems that will help us to streamline operations.This position will also work closely with other departments to ensure that their needs are integrated with our department resources. This person will also work closely with the Networking and Operations teams to integrate systems in department wide plans.
Essential
Responsibilities:
o Evaluate and determine the scope of projects
o Help to define user needs and requirements and obtain user agreement on the scope
o Help to develop and regularly update a schedule for the project with different timelines for phases that can be implemented if needed
o Attend regular meetings with internal customers and other IS staff to jointly determine and prioritize needs
o Refine user needs and requirements on the scope when needed
Analysis of Systems Designs and Integration
o Analyze and research the best solution
o Learn system and its capabilities in depth
o Evaluate projects to determine improvements for subsequent projects
o Maintain understanding of key business areas and proactively suggest systems and architecture that that will reduce costs or increase revenue
o Keep current on new technologies and systems
Implementation
o Design open and flexible systems to meet business user needs
o Integrate new systems into existing STC systems
o Develop programs using Blackbaud BBEC SDK, Visual Studio, MS SQL SSIS, MS SSRS, VB.Net and Microsoft SQL Server
o Code, test and debug programs
o Insure all programs are fully functioning, efficient and meet user needs. Utilize appropriate tools as necessary.
o Use Extreme and Agile programming principles as appropriate
o Evaluate and determine the scope of projects and bug fixes
o Estimate time required to complete tasks
o Build/modify databases leveraged for developed applications.
Documentation
o Develop process documentation
o Design and define process flow charts, file specifications, validations and output specifications.
o Follow appropriate procedures as directed by auditors for documentation and moving code into production
Background and
Experience:
o Requires a bachelor degree in a relevant discipline or the equivalent business experience. Masters preferred.
o Five (5) to Nine (9) years of systems integration, documentation and implementation experience
o Experience in documenting systems specifications and processes and researching possible system solutions
o Experience in working with systems that range from a few users to the entire global enterprise
o Experience across different platforms
o Experience working with a wide variety of technical and non-technical people
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o Strong structured programming skills
o Excellent knowledge of Blackbaud BBEC SDK, Visual Studio, MS SQL SSIS, MS SSRS, VB.Net and Microsoft SQL Server
o Ability to manage multiple projects
o Outstanding project management skills
o Attention to detail is a must
o Strong analytical and problem solving skills
o Strong testing skills
o Adaptability - particularly when we have to switch gears to work on another task
o Good interpersonal communication skills
o Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
o Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
